Color Inspiration: Caramel and the Fields of Gold

First this color brought caramel into my mind. The rich taste, you can choose if it's sweet or salty. But when I started to think of the season, then I realized that Autumn is the time of golden fields. Fields that move in the wind like waves in the sea. The color of leaves falling from the trees turn into beige also, reminding us the importance of letting things go when the time is right...

Beige is the color of neutral, calm, relaxing... It has the calculated maturity, acceptance that times will change. I realized that the most glass pearls that I have, are in the shade of caramel...

Selection of beige beads is limited in my bead stash. But I managed to find some round Czech glass beads and a mix. Fortunately I also purchased some vintage rice shaped glass beads from France.

Vintage oval glass stone has a rare color combination. While givre rhinestones are usually transparent glass with pink, blue or white, this one here has the sweetest color of caramel. The silky glass reflects from the folio of the glass stone. Vintage Swarovski navette in Light Smoked Topaz brings the contrast of light and dark, while new Swarovski color Sand Opal has modest glow that doesn't show itself on the first view.

Color Inspiration: Pale Rose

Remembering the season of the rose...

Autumn rose with pale rose petals, capturing last rays of sun. Enclosing its warmth within. The color of sweetness and innocence, softness, peace...

Inspired by the pink rose that has summer sun enclosed within, the first thought was of the old French beads in Prosser technique. They have the sweetest glow!

Antique hollow glass beads (in triangular plate) will add the sparkle. Vintage faceted glass beads have gentle rainbow gloss - I got these strung with labels "Made in Western Germany". I added some new Czechia glass beads, both pressed and faceted.

Delicate pink rice shaped pearls are vintage and will find their place among all the other beads. Inspired by pale pink rose.

Color Inspiration: Fields of Lavender

Imagine a morning by the fields of lavender. Muted colors of purple as the first rays of sun light up the misty air.

Inspired by these colors I put together a selection of vintage beads. Some in old English cut, some French Prosser technique. An array of purple violet colors in opaque, transparent and some covered with shiny coating.

Glass and crystal glass stones shimmer in the light. Rare textured glass stones with sparkly vintage Swarovski rhinestones create an enchanting contrast.

Rhinestone Headpiece in Vintage Style

This handmade rhinestone headpiece is for making a statement! Sparkly crystal rhinestones are all set one by one into settings and vintage glass pearls wired carefully onto the metal filigrees. Something truly feminine and floral to adorn yourself in special occasions like wedding, birthday or graduation! Take a look of the progress in photos:

First step was to set all the rhinestones into settings. Then
attaching set rhinestones and vintage glass pearls onto the filigrees.

I used memorywire for the base - it holds the round shape and is
lightweight. After making the base I covered it with florist tape.

The headpiece base is finished with supportive filigree band
and signature. All I need to do now is to attach all the
pretty pieces to the supportive filigree band.

Voilaa! Headpiece is finished and matching laces added.

Lots of sparkling rhinestones and vintage glass pearls
are mixed with floral metal components.

Üdini naiselik ja lilleline - see juukse ehe sobib kaunistama erilistel sündmustel nagu näiteks pulmad, sünnpäev ja lõpetamine! Piltidel näha töö käik ;)

Black Jewelry from Antique Beads

I got those black beads from treasure hunting in New York. What makes these round beads special is that they are antique hollow glass beads. Glass hollow beads were used before plastic was invented and it could offer the vast array of adorning materials to the garment industry. Due to light weight it was possible to sew lots of hollow glass beads on beautiful dresses and jackets and purses etc.

I matched the hollow glass beads with square shaped French jet nailhead beads and new seed beads (I really need to get some antique black seed beads!). In the black brooch dangles I used vintage black beads (I got from France) that are not hollow because hollow ones are fragile and need to be tucked between bigger beads for safety. These dangle earrings and tassel brooch can be either worn separately or as a set.

Black brooch got long beaded dangles that were inspired
by Victorian dress appliques. Each dangle is finished off with old
Prosser bead in oval shape.

Round hollow glass beads are tucked safely between higher
domed square shaped beads. This will protect the fragile hollow
glass beads in this brooch.

The beaded dangles in this Victorian style brooch add movement!

Black jewelry from antique beads. Black jewelry can easily be
combined with each other. Here are some previously made necklaces.

Need musta värvi antiiksed helmed sain ma New Yorgist. Ümmargused helmed teeb eriliseks see, et need on nö. puhutud, seest õõnsad. Õõnsad klaashelmed olid kasutusel enne plastmassi tulekut, mis võimaldas toota suures valikus erinevaid kaunistusi rõivatööstusele. Kuna õõnes klaas oli kergem, kui nö. täis-klaasist helmed, siis sai neid rõivastele rohkem õmmelda.

Ma panin õõnsad helmed kokku ruudukujuliste nailhead helmeste ja uute seemnehelmestega (ma tõesti peaksin hankima endale musti antiikseid seemnehelmeid!). Prossi ripatsites kasutasin täis-klaasist ümmargusi helmeid (mis sain Prantsusmaalt), kuna õõnsad on liialt õrnad. Neid kõrvarõngaid ja prossi võib edukalt kanda nii eraldi kui ka komplektina.

Vintage Style Grey Jewellery in Progress

I'm inspired by the crisp hues of frost turning everything into quiet sleep. Covering with sparkling ice crystals and muting all the colors. Take a look at the vintage and new materials for next collection.

Vintage faceted silver-colored Czech seed beads, round
transparent Czech beads in warmer shade of grey,
rare nailhead beads with pressed makers mark,
hand faceting and silver finish.

French glass rhinestones, these vintage stones are pressed and
compared to machine cut Swarovski rhinestones look like glowing little lights.

Adding some vintage and new glass pearls all in different shades
of grey. Vintage smooth top round cabochons look like dew drops!

Sparkly machine cut Swarovski in color "Black Diamond" - brand new and crisp.

Playing with contrasts. Different metals - warm copper and cold
silver, hues of grey - warm to cold, transparent versus
opaque, vintage glass and sparkly  high quality Swarovski.
