Angel with Flowers for the First Advent

Panin oma nime kirja isetegija.net foorumi projekti, mille järgi tuleb valmis saada igaks advendiks vastava arvu ingleid (esimesel üks, teisel kaks jne).

I signed my name for a project at isetegija.net, where participans will make angels for every Advent (one angel for the first, two for the second etc). I was puzzled over the idea of whatkind of angels to make, but I really wanted to participate. At first I thought I'll make 3D angels from beads, then I thought I'll use wirewrapping technique... But no matter what I thought I didn't like it. Then I wanted to draw, but drawing didn't fit into the handycraft project. Then I wanted to make the drawing into a piece of jewellery, but the only idea how to do this had so many disadvanages. Mainly that I didn't had the necessary materials and also I didn't even know what kind of materials I needed.

I had these stamped filligree settings for stones and I thought I could use them with my drawings. The drawing should be in the size of 13x18mm... You know, when I finished drawing (5 pcs for the start) I felt quite queasy. But these settings doesn't have backings, so the drawing should be strong enough not to break... Perhaps varnish will do... But whatkind of varnish? Only thing I had in hand was nail polish... :) When I started to insert the drawing I found out it didn't fit and so I needed to trim this little piece into smaller one, which was not easy... Then another problem ocurred - the prongs were too long and big that they would cover the quarter of my drawing. So I cut the most of them :) But problems weren't over. After I set the drawing I realized that pencil drawing and setting with antique finish created one grey and gloomy result. I tried to fix this with baby pink seedbeads. I can't evaluate the final result yet, I think I'll let some time pass, so I can forget all the trouble and see this brooch as just a piece of jewellery. But I think it is what I wanted - something practical with my drawing in it :)

Black Leaf

Must ja kuldne.

Black and gold. I tried to make a leaf-shape out of these swarovski stones. Although symmetry wasn't entirely achieved... The pendant is 2,5cm long and also it measures 2,5cm at the widest point. I almost got the result what I wanted when attaching stones in settings with wire. But the largest navette started to tilt and made the whole pendant curve. So I had to attach everything on a stamped filligree to get it right. Simple chain and clasp let the pendant shine. Gold color is awfully festive :) I think I'll try thiskind of style with more modest color ;)

Green Turmaline & Trinity

Olen avastanud enese jaoks uue värvi! See imeilus sügav roheline on swarovski värvide hulgas nime all turmaline. See värv meenutab montana suursugust, mõlemad värvid on kuidagi kuninglikud. Kasutasingi ainult ühte värvi - kaelakees olevad swarovski helmed on sama värvi. Kandilise kivi mõõdud on 12x10mm ja helmed on suuruses 6mm ja 4mm. Need naljakad helmekübarad on mul ise krussi keeratud :) Võtsin lillekujulise helmekübara ning keerasin peenikeste tangidega need rulli.
Teises kaelakees olen ära kasutanud kolm ühesugust white opal kivikest (navette). See sobib tänasesse lumisesse ilma suurepäraselt.
Kivikese (white opal) suurus on 8mm, kõrvarõnga osa on baasmetall antiikvase viimistlusega.

Roheline kee on müüdud.

I think I found myself another favourite color from swarovski! This gorgeous deep green is named as turmaline. This color reminds me of the royalty of the montana - both of them are deep and luxurious. And I used only turmaline in the first necklace. The rectangle stone measures 12x10mm, beads are 6mm and 4mm. These funny bead caps are curled up by me :) I took a flower shaped bead cap and used fine round pliers.
In the second necklace I used three white opal stones in same size and shape(navettes). It fits in the weather today perfectly - so much snow here! There are three chains and also a freshwater pearl :)
I also made a simple pair of earrings. I have wanted to make that kind of post earrings with a stone for a long time. The stone (white opal) measures 8mm in diameter and the metal part is from base metal with antique copper finish.

Tourmaline green necklace is sold.

In the Circle

Sometimes it feels like the routine gets really tiring. Sometimes it seems that everything is grey and drab. And sometimes it needs an effort to think of something colorful and different.
Here are turquoise colored table cut glass beads, faceted goldstone and tiny metal beads on a bead wire. It's ridiculous how much time it took for me to get it right :) I strung this bracelet so many times and tried to find the best outcome. Isn't the stringing the most difficult thing? ;)

Memory wire Ring

Kõrvarõngapaaris on samad tumesinised mageveepärlid, millele panin kaaslaseks lihvitud tsitriinist ovaalse kujuga helmed. Kõrvarõngad on müüdud.

I have all four books of Bead Fantasies by Takako Samejima. I found the tutorial for the memory wire ring from the first book. I specially made a huge amount of pins for this ring, or so I thought. After making this ring and a matching bracelet there was only five left. Pins will run out so fast and easily. I made a pair of earring from the leftovers. The ring and a bracelet is a set. I chose the colors on a present emotion: dark blue, salmon pink, olive green, lavendel lilac, gold and amethyst. It became quite a mix :) I also added tiny and detailed leaves to this color mix.
The same dark blue freshwater pearls are also in this pair of earrings. I added faceted oval citrine beads to create a contrast. Both colors, the dark blue and golden yellow, are bold and rich so I didn't add any other beads, only a feathershaped pendant that adds lenght. Earrings are sold.

Huge Mountain Crystal

Ma ostsin selle tohutu suure mägikristallist helme LaGeode'st. See on 25x17mm suur! Kee on iseenesest väga lihtne. Hõbedast kett on jälle Luxoniast ja ehtenõel minu enda tehtud :)

I bought this huge mountain crystal from La Geode. It measures 25x17mm! To be ohnest I frogot all about it, until I found it yesterday from my stash. I started to make a necklace out of it and had an unpleasant surprise. The tunnel of this bead was not strait so 0,8mm pin didn't go through it. Fortunately 0,6mm went because it had room to bend and I could finish this necklace. It is really simple piece of jewellery. The silver chain is again from Luxonia and the headpin I made by myself :)

Brooches

Kõige viimane pross on hiljutine. Joonistasin puunööbile pitsilise mustri ning lakkisin küünelakiga. Selle prossi diameeter on 2,5cm.

Here are some brooches I've forgotten to show you. Once I wanted to make a ball out of swarovskies (chaton rose) and wire. The outcome was 1,5cm, a bit formless thing that I couldn't find any use for. And one day I was in a mood of sewing brooches. I added some golden silk, silverfoiled olive glass bead and ribbon, and a brooch was born. Since I had already torn out all of my fabrics I decided to continue making brooches. Then I made a red brooch with a ladybug glass bead. The difference between the two reds in that second brooch is not so big actually like the photo states. The third brooch was next. I wanted to try out my new embroidery silk I got from Bricolart. Beautiful, hand dyed and with a smooth color blending Victoria Claytons ribbon turned out to be a small rose. I added some organza, lace, glass pearls and swarovskies. I finished the last brooch recently. I draw a pattern on a wooden button and cover it with a nail polish. The diameter of the last brooch is 2,5cm.

Flowers in New Jade

New jade on tegelikult serpentiin, ilus piimja roheka tooniga kivi.

New jade is actually serpentin, a beautiful milky green stone. I was in between when deciding if to buy these or not. I was afraid I have no ideas to use them with. But then again I wanted those beads so bad :) These flower beads are 25mm long and carved with machine. This stone goes so well with silver so I added some silver chain from Luxonia and Karen Hill Tribe bead caps and leaf pendants. This necklace is 46cm long and flower cluster adds 4,5cm to it.

Milky Mint: image heavy post

Sellest komplektist on mul lemmik ka :) Minu isiklik lemmik on see tilluke peenikese ketiga kaelakee, mille ripats mahub ilusti sõrmeotsa peale :P

This is a set with a color that is new to me :) Delicate and light, clear greenish color of mint. I didn't plan anything in this set, just enjoyed using this color. Here are two necklaces, one with two chains and already familiar wirewoven motif of swarovski stones and glass beads. Second is tiny and modest. Two pairs of simple earrings and a bracelet. I had some trouble photographing this color. I used this salmon-pink cloth on the background in purpose to create a contrast and to have a possibility to check if colors are right - if the color hue of the cloth is wrong, so is the mint (as on the first picture, hehe...).

I have my own favourite in this set :) This tiny necklace with a fine and thin chain and a pendant small enough to sit on a tip of my finger :P
