Tellisin endale uued lõiketangid. Tahtsin selliseid peenikese otsaga, et traadimässimistele kergemini ligi pääseda. Tegemist Xuroni tootega Micro-Shear® Flush Cutters PL9200. Esimene asi, mida märkasin on nende tangide kergus - no tõesti, minu vanade lõiketangide kõrval on need nagu sulgkaalus :) Traati lõikab ilma pingutuseta ja pehmelt (ei tajugi seda hetke, kui traat juba läbi lõigatud). Muidugi tugevat ja paksu traati ma nendega ei lõika ;) Ikka pehmet ja mitte üle 1mm paksust. Ainuke asi on nende lõiketerade asetus. Minu kujutlustes peaks need käima täpselt teineteise vastas, aga tegelikkuses on nad natuke üksteise peal. Võimalik, et tegu on minu kätte sattunud tangipaari defektiga. Muidu on tegemist igati väärika liikmega minu tangide kogus, sest oma eesmärki - olla abimees traadimässimistel - ta täidab igaljuhul.
Parandus (29.12.07): Paistab, et mitte tangidel polnud defekti, vaid... Ühesõnaga nüüd, kus mul tangid rohkem käpas, oskan ma teha peaaegu ideaalseid lõikeid! See peaaegu ideaalne lõige tuleb traadi pooleks lõikamisel küll vaid ühele traadi otsale... aga ausõna, nii puhast lõiget ma küll tangidelt ei oodanud!
I bought new cutters. I wanted one of those flush cutters to get closer cuts when working on wire wrapped pieces. This is Xuroni Micro-Shear® Flush Cutters PL9200. First thing I noticed was that they are so lightweight - really, compared to the ones I bought from hardware store, they feel like from featherweight :) They cut wire easily and softly (I actually can't feel the point where the wire is cut through). Ofcourse they're not ment to cut thick and hard wire ;) but soft and not more than 1mm in diameter. Only thing that bothers is the position of cutting edges. I imagined they should be exactly side by side, but this pair has them slightly overlapped. Possible it's just a little defect only my pliers have. Nevertheless they're complement to my pliers collection, because they sure serve well as cutters for wire wrapping.
Edit (29.12.07): Well, it seems the pliers were not the one with a defect... Now when I had time to practice I can make almost perfect cuts! If I cut wire half then that almost perfect cut comes to one half of the wire... but still, I never expected such a clean cut with pliers!

Minu lõiketangid läksid nende pühade ajal ka hingusele... kust sa need ostsid/tellisid? Tunduvad üsna asjalikud.
Tunduvad jah asjalikud :) Ma nüüd vaatan, et tegu polegi vist defektiga - lõikehaarad lähevad teineteise peale vaid siis kui suruda. Muidu on kõik OK. Saadan sulle IT privad täpsemalt, kustkohast ja kuidas tellisin.
